Your Role

As a mechanic at Saab Kockums Muskö, your main tasks will focus on service, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical installations on the Navy's surface vessels. The role includes troubleshooting and maintenance of ships with a high technical level and complexity. The work is varied and offers good opportunities to develop your craftsmanship and professional skills.

Examples of work areas include:

• Hydraulics
• Valve and pump maintenance
• Axle pulling
• Rudder assembly
• Pressure testing

The work is performed both on board ships and in the workshop. Domestic travel may occur.

Your Profile

To apply for the role, you need to have:

• High school education in workshop technology or equivalent
• Driver's license B
• Good computer skills

The work requires you to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

• Material processing including drilling, turning, and milling
• Threading and flange connections
• Measurement technology and laser alignment of machine setups
• Work with pumps and valves
• Heavy industrial drivetrains
• Hydraulic systems
• Crane, truck, and mobile platform work
• Heavy lifting work, e.g., hoists

To succeed in the role, we would like you to be a person who works in a structured and orderly manner and has a positive attitude with a strong interest in technology. Valued qualities include teamwork, professionalism, and strong drive.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
